Two Piece Leathers Reviews

What are Two Piece Leathers?

You can compare a set of two piece leathers to a one piece and find very few differences. The only real difference is that the two piece has been cut (not literally of course) around the waist and a zip put in it's place to secure the two halves together. So from a distance then, it looks pretty much identical to a one piece.

Benefits on Two Piece Leathers

You get the best of both worlds with two piece leathers. You still get the look of a sports bike rider in a race suit, but you get the benefit of being able to detach the jacket from the trousers. This means on your next visit to a biking event you don't have to have the top half of a one piece suit dangling around your waist all day.

Two piece leathers offer the next level down of greatest protection to a one piece. With a 360 degree zip running around the waist you can be sure top and bottom will stay connected in most scenarios. I can personally testify from experience that they do stay together.

Things to look out for:

  • The armour on two piece leathers should all be CE approved. You won't find many suits these days that don't come with CE approved armour, but it's worth checking as the very cheap unbranded stuff sometimes doesn't.
  • You should have armour in the shoulders, elbows and knees at the very least. If you can find some with protection in the back and hip region you're on to a winner.
  • Any set of leathers be it one or two piece, jacket or trousers need to fit properly. Most motorcycle clothing is designed to work best when it fits nice and comfortably to your body - i.e. not too baggy - while at the same time it should not being restrictive.
