Motorbike Tank Bag - Essential Touring Gear
Unless you fancy wearing the same old skiddies for the next seven days during your trek across the country, then motorbike luggage is an essential part of your riding gear. If you're bike doesn't come with panniers, or the facility to put them on, then strap on luggage is an excellent alternative, cue, the motorbike tank bag.
It's a pretty basic principle. People have been trying to strap bags down in every possible way in every possible place for a long time. A dedicated motorbike tank bag comes with the necessary features to strap your belongings down safely, with no worry of seeing your underpants flying down the motorway at 90mph.
There are a good few manufacturers of motorbike tank bags but our personal favourites come from Kappa, Cargo and Oxford.

Our first option would be this little beauty. It weighs in with a whopping 14-24ltr of storage space, depending on how far you extend the storage compartment. Not only does it come with a wide array of straps, but the base of the bag is magnetic for that extra comfort that the bag in secure. The bag comes with a fully waterproof cover which retains a transparent window so you can still see your map in the worst conditions.

Cargo - Aqua Tank Bag
What we like about the Aqua motorbike tank bag is it's detachable 1.5 litre drinks carrier. This can come in handy on long trips where liquids are not freely available. Yes, you might say that you could just throw a bottle or two in you bag, but then you are using up valuable storage space that is already hard to come by on a motorbike.

Oxford X2 Tankbag
Finally we have the X2 tank bag. Not quite in the same league in terms of storage space, but we chose the X2 for it's unique shape and design. This design allows the X2 to easily fit on a wide variety of tanks, paying particular attention to the super sport class that do not always have a flat surface to sit a bag on.
