SIDI Vertigo Boot

The SIDI Vertigo boot comes in as a more budget option to some of the other boots on the market that can see you paying £300+. That doesn't mean to say that SIDI have skimped on features for this gorgeous looking boot however.

I suppose the first thing to mention would be the amazing Tecno VR closing system. Sounds pretty neat, and it is. It's a rather special system that allows you to accurately adjust the boot around the calf area which in turn ensures you have the perfect and most comfortable fit before going on a ride.

The heels on the SIDI Vertigo boot are also pretty special. They feature shock absorbers that are fitted in a polyurethane shell that allow 3mm of movement on impact. So in the event of an off, it helps take some of the sting away when you eventually reach the ground.

The SIDI Vertigo boot has Teflon coated insides. This helps stop water and sweat from being absorbed into the boot, keeping them as fresh as possible. I'm sure we've all had the moment of removing a boot after a long hot ride (on the bike of course) and just seeing it dripping inside. Or is that just me? The perforated linings help keep your feet cooler in hot weather.

The Nylon shin plates are easily replaceable on the SIDI Vertigo boot which is rather handy, but if I'm honest I'd rather say I hope it never needs replacing. If you're a toe down kinda guy rather than a knee down, you'll be happy to hear that the toe sliders are also replaceable.

Soles are coated with a non slip rubber material which helps give good traction on your pegs when you're hanging off like a monkey, and the outside of the boot is covered with Lorica to help keep the boot in top condition and keep that nasty muck away.

So you see that even though the SIDI Vertigo boot is at the budget end of branded road race boot, it is by no means short of some very swanky features found in their more expensive brothers. Definitely worth a go I think.
