Top Brass RST Leathers - Pro Series Leathers Review
We really have arrived at the top of the RST tree when we come to he RST Pro Series leathers. They are the companies top range leathers as you can probably tell from the price.
At a RRP of £599 though, it's still good value for money when you consider you can pay between £800-£1200 for top brand name leathers that are not much better quality than the RST Pro Series leathers.

So lets get down to what you are really paying for. As with most of RST's leathers, the Pro Series is made from 1.1-1.3mm premium grade, full grain drum dried Brazilian cow hide, which is nothing to be sniffed at.
Shoulder and knee protection comes in the form of built in C.E approved armour made by Maurex, which I have to say it's always a good sign when third party armour is used because you know time has been taken when developing and manufacturing it rather than RST just using their own armour that they've knocked up, got it approved and thrown it in.
Stitching is OXLEY bonded nylon for optimum burst protection. Again it's great to see properly manufactured thread being used for the seams as another indication of quality in their RST Pro Series leathers.

Stretch panels are none other than Kevlar made by Dupont. These name drops just keep coming don't they? And they don't stop there.
All zips on RST Pro Series leathers are manufactured by YKK and are stitched with the previously mentioned thread ensuring they stay intact in the event of an off on the road or track.
The collars and cuffs are fitted with a material called Chamude. It's s soft and flexible synthetic leather with a suede surface texture which breaths like genuine leather, which on the hotter days is going to help you stay that little bit cooler. Added to this some of the panels are perforated and Airtex lining is fitted to the inside for further cooling.
Looking at it then it's hard to see where these top name brands could perform
so much better to justify a 30-100% increase in price, so you have to agree
for what it is, the RST Pro Series leathers are great value for money.
