RST Gloves come cheap, but also with quality.
RST usually come at the lower end of the price range when looking for motorcycle leather, and this is plainly evident when looking at a range of RST gloves. However, this lower price tag doesn't necessarily mean the gloves are poorly made. Some RST gloves may be nearly 10 times cheaper than gloves made by the biggest names, but when you get down to the specs of materials used the two pairs of gloves aren't worlds apart.
RST Razor
Take the RST Razor glove for example. Retailing at around a measly £40 it is right at the bottom of the price scale of a pair of RST gloves, but when you look at the finer aspects of the glove, it is still made with grade A cowhide found on some of the higher end gloves from different manufacturers. Knuckle protection comes in the way of carbon fibre inserts, again something found in most of the higher end products. Ok it doesn't have the cyborg looking finger protection found on the Knox Handroid, but at the end of the day it will stop you grazing your hands in the event of an off.

RST SP-R
Another of the great value RST gloves is the RST SP-R. Retailing at around £70 the SP-R's are still at the lower end of the motorcycle glove pricing scale, but you are getting good quality leather for your buck. The main construction of the glove is made of the same grade A cowhide found in the Razor, but the palm of the glove is made from kangaroo leather giving you that little extra protection in the area that is bound to touch the deck first. You are also given Pittards leather finger panels on your index and middle fingers to give you that little extra feel when using the levers. Knuckle protection comes in the way of double carbon fibre inserts which you can be sure will withstand almost any impact you are expected to face.

RST MotoPilot-S Race
My favourite of the RST gloves however for sheer value for money comes in the way of the RST MotoPilot-S Race glove. How much would you be expecting to pay for a glove worn by the ex MotoGP & World Supersport, and current BSB rider Andrew Pitt? I'm guessing the figure in your head is no where near £80. The MotoPilot-S Race glove uses top of the range kangaroo leather and premium grade cowhide that has been tried an tested amongst some of the greatest riders in the world. Among the great leather there are also other top notch features such as Kevlar thread in the main impact areas, insides fitted with DuPont 'Coolmax' lining to keep those sweaty hands at bay, 'Super fabric' panel overlays fitted to the palm impact area's for max abrasion resistance, vented carbon fibre knuckles to keep your hands both safe and cool, and finally Silicon 'Powergrip' is fitted to the fingers to give a secure grip at all times.

So you may look at RST gloves and think 'budget' but you would be a fool not to even consider the brand as an option when looking for your next set of motorcycle gloves.
