Motorcycle Hi Vis is Cool!
Ok allow me to rephrase. Anything that increases your chances of being seen by other road users while on your motorcycle is cool with me.
If wearing motorcycle hi vis increases the chances of you being seen by even just 1%, sure it's worth wearing, right? Of course it is. I'm sure many of you seasoned riders will have had instances where you get the 'sorry mate, I just didn't see you' which happens all too often on the biker scene.
So lets have a look at some of the different forms motorcycle hi vis comes in:
Textile with Hi Vis built in
Pretty straight forward really. With this type of garment some or all of the textile is fluorescently coloured. I like this idea because it means you don't have a vest flapping around in the wind but still get the benefits of hi vis.

Belts and Harnesses
These are a great cheap and cheerful way to get your hands on some hi vis gear. These are strapped over the top of your motorcycle jacket and are highly reflective to lights being shone on them.

LED Wear
I think this type of motorcycle hi vis clothing is a fantastic invention. They come in the form of a thin jacket to slip over your leathers/textiles, or a cover to go over your rucksack. They're fitted with LED strips front and back for optimal visibility. I believe this to be the best form of hi vis clothing around right now.

Wheel Stripes
Wheel stripes are a great way to add motorcycle hi vis to your machine but also from an aesthetics point of view improve looks too. This option is a strip of coloured sticky reflective tape that can put on the wheels for aesthetics and/or to improve visibility.
