Durability. When it comes to wear and tear, leather will always last longer than man made materials. A good set of leathers could see you through a decade quite easily.

Choosing a Style
Motorbike leathers have many different forms, so now you need to decide what style you want.
One Piece Leathers
As the title suggests a set of one piece leathers are one whole suit that you climb into and zip up at the front.
They are often used for trackdays and racing as they offer the greatest all round protection. They are used on the road too, but please be advised it can get awkward if you are ever dying for the loo!

Two Piece Leathers
No prizes for guessing these leathers come in two pieces. They are very much the same as a one piece suit only they are detachable by a zip that goes 360 degrees around the waist.
These are good all-rounders as it's a little more user friendly when you want to take them off, plus you get the benefit of them looking like a race suit.

Single Leather Motorbike Jacket / Leather Motorbike Trousers
Again no prizes for guessing, these leathers can be bought separately if it's just the one half you need. Generally you will find most jackets have a matching pair of trousers, but both look fine under their own merit.
Some single jackets come with a zip but it will not always be 360 degrees around the waist.

Now here's some things to look for when choosing your motorbike leathers
- Premium grade leather between 1.1mm and 1.4mm
- Armour in crucial places i.e. elbows, shoulders and back for jackets, knees and hips for trousers
- All armour is CE approved. Even better, made by an armour development company i.e. Knox
- Double or triple stitching is a must
- Removable linings are helpful for all weather riding
